James Morrell

James is a front-end web developer, user interface (UI) and user experience (UX) designer, and digital communication specialist. With a professional background in Communications and Social & Behavioural Science, his key skill set is in crafting simple-but-effective messages—and interfaces—on digital mediums through the composition of layout, text and imagery. James assists the Mining Resettlment eLibrary initiative through Design, Development and Web Maintenance.

With 10 years of web development and design experience, James spends a majority of his time on his own internet companies. He most recently co-founded Australian transport and logistics company—Muval—which helps customers move large items using the available space in interstate furniture and removal trucks. He is also the co-founder of The Audio Hunt which was selected as part of the exclusive Abbey Road Red incubator program in 2015.

James is a former Communications Officer and Research Assistant at The Centre for Social Responsibility in Mining. James joined the centre while studying his Bachelor's degree in Social Science (majoring in Community Development) and Communication (majoring in Public Relations) at The University of Queensland. After working at the centre from 2011 - 2013, he formed his own creative agency based in Brisbane Australia.
